Mobil 1 10W-30 High Mileage Oil In New Lawn Mower??

My new Honda lawn mower requires an oil change at 5 hours. Honda recommends API service category SJ or later oil and 10W- 30. So I visit Walmart and pick up the above 10-30 oil only after changing the oil do I note it says "High Mileage". Yea stupid for not reading the entire label, I was in a hurry. So my question is can I use this oil on my new Honda mower with GCV190 engine or should I go back and by just Mobil 1 10W-30 oil?

I'd go ahead and use it.

Next time, pick up a good 0w30 or 5w30 Mobil 1. I just changed my Honda walk behind to Mobil 1 5w40 diesel oil just because I had it. I wouldn't get too picky about which Mobil 1 in a lawn mower. Main reason for Mobil 1 is to have an oil that'll go for the whole season. Don't think it matters too much which one. 0w20 or 5w20 are a little too light for an air cooled engine though but probably would do fine. Another "synthetic" would do fine, too.

Thanks guys for the feedback very much appreciated. At 12 OZ at a time that 5 quart container is going to last a long time for that mower!

The HM oils have some increased detergents and stuff to help seals. No worries. I just use the same 10w30 syn blend diesel oil that I have already for most of my other stuff. HDEO diesel oils generally have more robust additive packages than gasoline automotive oils, and they are also gasoline rated. Great for air cooled lawn mowers and such. Any oil, irregardless of brand or whether it is a conventional, a blend, or a full synthetic, they require an additive package to make it all work right. The add pack makes up 20-25% of any motor oil. It is truly what makes an oil good, better, or best.
