I installed a Bro-tek skidplate on my BX-22 a few days ago. I was worried about how easily I could attach the MMM to the PTO with the skidplate in place. I've done it twice now, so it can be done - - but for me it is much harder with the skidplate. Both installing & removing it. I can see where someone with flexible and strong enough hands & wrists would be better at it. Does anyone have any tricks here?

Kinda in the same boat as you. I have bought the Bro-Tek skid plates, but haven't installed then yet on a Bx2350.

Had to have my achilles tendon repaired and re-attached which kinda slowed me down. But I'll be getting the plates on in a couple of weeks and would appreciate any advice.

Thanks!

Check Richards web page

http://bro-tek.biz/Bro-Tek%20BX-M-R-MMM%20Skid%20Plate%20instructionA-1.pdf

on page 8 he dosen't recommend with mmm some interference problem with gearbox I think.

I have one on my 23 and but wouldn't be with out it I've had sticks attack fan but wasen't fatal and had a root rip fuel filter off (btw there isn't any fuel shut off on tank to stem the flow) I won't leave home with out it!!!!!

Thanx tomm - - however, the note your refer to on p. 8 is for the front [extension] skid plate. In fact that is why I did not order the front skid plate. The original [rear] skidplate has a removable plate that allows the MMM drive shaft to attach to the PTO. That's the place the logo "Bro-Tek" is painted.
