I took off my MMM to use my new rotary cutter (see Attachments Forum). This is the first time I removed the deck. After getting grease on both hands and a few choice words later I got it off in over an hour. A learning experience. The Kubota maunal ("reverse steps on mounting a mower" was pretty useless IMHO). It's not that hard, it's what you unhook. I see there are a couple cotter pins on each side that should have cotter keys/rings to speed the process. I know I'm swapping the pins out.
I'm sure I can take the MMM off the next time in 15 minutes, and figure it'll take that to put it on. By golly I've kept my MMM greased well since it was all over my body.

Speaking of greasing the mower, do your rear guage wheels make a lot of noise? Adding more grease doesn't seem to fix the problem.

BTW, I noticed you do not have a FEL. It is so easy to mount and remove the MMM when using the FEL to lift up the front end of the tractor. I would say 5 or 6 minutes tops to do either operation. Granted, I have a lot of practice since I take the mower off after every cut, which is generally once a week.

A word of warning. . . when you re-install the mmm, be sure the mid-PTO coupling if fully on the shaft and locked. Someone else on the forum a few months (can't remember who) ago had the mid PTO drive shaft come off while mowing. Not pretty.

Good luck!

I have the same setup as you = B7500HST w/ 60" MMM

You don't have to take any cotter pins off. All of the pins
are springloaded and stay on the tractor; there are no loose
pieces.

Steps are:

(1) On the front end, pull the pin towards the middle and
then pull the handle down (and don't forget to put it
up and lock the pin back after you pull to mower handle
off).

(2) The two attachment points on the 3ph are just spring
loaded pins that you pull back - one on each side. Pull
them back and lift the 3ph up a bit to get it out of the
way

(3) Pull the PTO shaft collar back and unhook it from the PTO

The above steps only take a few minutes. The longest and
hardest part is now pulling the mower out from under the
tractor. I have a FEL and use that to lift the front end.

When you have it off, it makes it alot easier to grease.
Look carefully, as there's about five or six zerk fittings;
some on the spindles, the wheels. and the base of some
of the components.

After every cut?!?!?!
Holy cow. Why?

Rogue,

I'm still doing a lot of landscaping on the back portion of my property. It is quite uneven at this point and is really rough on the mowing deck if I keep it on. I have bar-turf tires that are quite a bit wider and shorter than turf tires resulting in there not being much mower ground clearance. Actually, my front guage wheels are always riding on the ground, even when I have the mower raised up all the way ( here I am referring to having the hydraulics all the way up, and not the guage wheels set at their highest position ).

Actually, could it be that my mower is adjusted incorrectly? A question for B7500 and B2410 owners with the 60" MMM , do you have the same problem with mower clearance? If so, what tire configuration do you have?

Thanks.

There were two of us who fessed up to it. I was one of the two. And you're right -- it wasn't pretty.

Me too. I'm sticking to my story though that the retainer ring failed, afterall, it was covered under warranty. Don't know how to post a link to the thread but I think it was titled "BX self destruct" or close to it. There was some pictures of the carnage.

Regarding keeping the deck on and clearance, I've left
mine on my B7500 when I do FEL work and generally have
not had a problem. Since we've had the dry weather tho
(northeast), I've only been mowing every two weeks so
I have been taking the MMM off. I have two large piles of
dirt that I'm working on spreading and , while I could climb
the piles with the MMM on, it's a little easier without it.

Yes I have a FEL and it's a plus (or so it seems or removing the MMM).

On those spring loaded clips. One on each side, near the rear tires. The tractor was still attached to the MMM by the shackles that suspends the MMM from the tractor. Did I miss something here?

Oh it is a Kubota MMM too.
