Dropped the mower on my Max yesterday. I was dreading the job, dealer even told me that I would only want to drop it once a season. I looked at the video, I looked at the manual, neither machine had a loader frame. Went real well, not much more effort than hooking up a 3pt implement, I spent maybe 15 minutes doing it and that included getting the wood blocking gathered up.
The mid PTO,was tight due to the frame. I ended up lieing behind and resting the three point arm on my chest and it only took a second. Probably cut time in half next time.

I have taken mine off and on several times now. The first time was a little slow but now it is a very simple process. It will get faster as you get used to everything

No problems after 50 + hours. Works very well no matter how heavy the grass is. I wish it would raise up a little higher for transporting but that isnt too big of a deal.

Awesome, glad to hear it! Is your yard smooth and flat? Mine is pretty uneven with a lot of rocks, so I am concerned about how the mowing deck will hold up. Don't know of it will get all bent up or not. Any thoughts on that issue?

Awesome

Be careful when transitioning between different surfaces like going from grass to a concreted driveway. I was mowing next to my driveway and the left front wheel on the MMM had turned and caught the edge of the drive which is only about a half inch up and it bent the collar mount that the wheel shaft goes through. Had to stick a long 1 inch bar into it and straighten it back out.

I have some pretty rough spots that i mow and so far it seems to be holding up pretty well. I have hit a few rocks and actually got the deck stuck on a root one time and everything seems to be fine and I can see no damage. The constuction of the deck is pretty heavy so i think you will be fine.

Sorry to resurrect an older thread, but wanted to share a pretty crappy mistake i made when removing my MMM from my Max25.

YouTube vids tell you to take off the draw bar so the mower can lower more than normal. No problem. I pull off the bar, drop the mower, figure out the pins, remove drive shaft... back over it, and done! Easy Peasy.

Fast forward to the next day. Had a 30ft white oak fall on the neighbors lawn. I go, buck it up, and grab Max to move the wood. Put my draw bar back on and toss my tow chain in the bucket. I go to raise my 3pt to get it out of the way, and it hesitates for about 2 sec... then with a loud "PING" it pops up. Weird... but whatever, lets get this tree.

I pile the brush, load the logs in the pickup... snake the chain thru the lower branches of the brush pile to pull it way... then go to attach to the draw bar. Something didn't look right. I didn't have time to be looking at it just then....

Finish up the tree job, and decide to investigate. Guess who installed the draw bar BEFORE lifting the 3pt/MMM brackets? Yep.. this guy. That 2 sec hesitation was the cut height bracket being bent around the draw bar. EVERY SINGLE PART for the MMM that's attached to the 3pt had to be replaced. Dealer was dumbfounded. As was I. Never mind embarrassed.

So guys/gals. If you remove your Draw bar to take off your mower, please be sure to raise the bracket before replacing the draw bar.

For what it's worth, I keep the 3PH in the up postion when mowing. My ground is pretty bumpy. Thanks Gallen, at La Wall's Tractor. Dave.
