Need to locate a resource for the Mitsubishi K3D diesel engine parts:dance1::dance1::confused::confused: - think there is a resource that sells parts somewhere in Texas? Any help out there?

Thank you very much for the information. This is what I was looking for ... evidently these engines are getting harder to find parts for. BTW -- James Stewart is my neighbor. We live on the same street about 1 mile apart. He is a very nice person and so is his family.

Thanks - again for the great lead on parts.

You’re welcome for the parts help. My sister and BIL were very close friends of the Stewart's for years. My oldest son is James' age and got to occasionally hang out at the Stewart's and ride a little when he was visiting family in FL. back then.

I just bought parts for that engine last winter. Pistons $900. Rings $370. Gasket set $390. Bearings $400. You get the picture. I've got over $2500 in parts and I could have bought another tractor for $3000.

Wow--that a lot of cash for such a small amount of parts. It almost makes this engine not worth restoring or fixing.

That IS steep. I have learned that you can spend a lot more than necessary for Mitsubishi parts. NCW has a complete gasket set for $197, complete main AND rod bearing sets come to about $260 and complete ring set is $180. I'm not even saying NCW has the cheapest prices around, there are others advertising on the net with similar prices and ability to get about any part. I have always said that Mitsubishi engine parts are no more expensive or hard to get than any new "big brand" compact. Get a quote on similar parts for newer Deere or CNH models and see if I'm wrong....in fact I'd wager that often, comparable Mitsubishi parts can even be cheaper.

I'd say if the parts prices really scares you, look for one of the K3D engined Toro Grounds series mowers for a doner engine. I have seen MANY of these for sale online that are completely ratted out but the engines are claimed to be in good running condition and they can sell pretty cheap. Thanks in advance. I will look for a donor engine for spare parts.
