Have an overheating problem. Flushed out radiator added new coolant, sprayed out radiator fins and changed air filter. After running bush hog in pasture grass tractor overheats after an hour or so water temp light comes on. Any body out there having same problem? Is there any type of after market add on?

A friend of mine with a 2350 had the same problem. I ran it for him when he was recuperating from surgery and asked him what rpm he was running. He was about half throttle so that was his problem. He had his radiator rodded out, took water pump off, it was OK, no thermostat.

I have the same tractor and the same problem. I've been dealing with it all summer. After about an hour the temp light comes on. Then the radiator boils over. I can let it sit and cool, refill the radiator and it's OK. I'm mostly using it to bush bog the horse pasture that grows up with fast growing trash weeds. It normally only takes about an hour to do this job but this problem seems to crop up every time.

I've been spraying the radiator to remove debris from the cooling fins and from what I could see, the fins were pretty clean after the spraying. I finally got tired of this and pulled the radiator. The center portion was completely stopped up. Couldn't see light through it. I sprayed with degreaser and rinsed with my garden hose with very little progress so I broke out the pressure washer and had at it. I was kinda worried about messing up the fins but I was running out of options. Got it cleaned up with no damage to the fins and put back in the tractor. Now I'm waiting til morning to let the gasket maker set and I'll try it out and post my results. Hopefully, I've got this problem solved.

My fan is in pretty bad shape and I'm going to have to try to get a new one. That'll probably help also.

I'm going to start a new thread tomorrow about a couple of different problems I'm having but I need to take a few pictures first.

I flushed out my engine block removed the radiator and took it to a radiator shop. I had them take it apart and rod it out. Reinstalled added some WATER WETTER which you can get from an auto parts store. Along with antifreeze mixture 30 percent antifreeze and 70 percent distilled water This completely took care of the problem I can now run tractor with no heat up. Remember to keep radiator fins clear.

Congrats on the fix AWS. I had the same results. I worked the tractor pretty hard today for a couple of hours with no overheating. She ran great the whole time.

I seem to remember one of the members, oliver28472, I think, said he installed a screen in front of his radiator and it helped him a lot. Well, I'm going to do the same. That way I can run my hand across the screen to clear the bugs and grass and whatever from the front of the radiator. Because of where the battery sits, it's almost impossible to spray the radiator in the center where it was stopped up and taking that thing off to clean it is a pain.

I already have screen it does help. You still need to wash out radiator fins I pull battery and wash every couple of months.

After looking at the setup I see that the battery wouldn't be too hard to remove. I'll incorporate that into my maintenance program along with the screen.
