Hello all,
I have a Mitsubishi D2050 that the engine was recently rebuild. After priming the filter assembly and then the fuel injection pump, the tractor runs very good for about a minute or less before it starts dropping the RPMs. If I open the fuel injection primers, there is again some air bubbles. I can repeat this process several times and it seems to be consistent on how the tractor behaves each time I prime the fuel pump.
I've changed the fuel filter and replaced the hose from the tank to the filter assembly and from the filter assembly to the fuel pump but I still have the same results. The diesel is new and I also cleaned the fuel tank.
One thing thing that I have to mention is that the fuel filter assembly has an elbow that connects the filter assembly to the fuel pump and is a bit loose. I pulled out and added some Teflon tape and that seems to seal it OK (there is no visible leaking).
Is it possible that the actual fuel pump is the issue?
