Price Check Mitsubishi Beaver III ~ Is this a good price?

Hi all ~ I'm new to this forum and was wondering if you could help me out. I have and opportunity to buy a Mitsubishi Beaver III. It has 160 hours and looks like a new tractor. It has obviously been well taken care of. The man who is selling it has a larger tractor that he uses and this one has been sitting in a garage. He just uses it here and there to haul a garden cart around. It fires right up and runs very well. This is my first tractor besides a small John Deere which is too under powered to take care of my property. He is asking $3000 for the tractor. It is a diesel 4x4. Thanks for any info you can give me.

Not sure what size tractor that is... Do you know how much horse power? Is there any other model numbers besides "Beaver III"? Maybe a picture you can post?

You need to give us more information about your intended uses. On the surface, it sounds like a fair price, but you should know, parts may be very difficult to find.

When it comes to what something is worth, it usually depends upon two things. 1. What are you willing to pay. 2. How much the seller will accept.

Handsome little 13.6 HP tractor.

$3000.00 might be a little high, of course if condition is perfect..might be okay. I'd see if there's anything else available in your area just to be sure you really want this one.
AchingBack is right about parts availability, make sure your covered for future needs. He's also dead on about pricing.

Not sure where the 13.6 HP that Irwin quotes came from.
I believe the Beaver III 373 was a 3 cyl 18 HP diesel tractor. Very powerful for its size.
Are there any implements with it?
Depending on where you live $3000 for just the tractor is top dollar, but in excellent condition could be a great investment.
Parts are available. They can be expensive but so is everything else these days.

A few vendors post here regularly that can supply parts. One is Valley Power. I have done business with them and would recommend them highly.

These are great tractors. You will not be disappointed.

I believe you are both correct on the HP, Irwin, and Mundy. The 13.6 figure is the PTO HP.

I have the grey version of that tractor and paid $3500 about 10 years ago. If yours truly has 160 hours and is 4wd, I would jump on it. Parts are readily available through the vendors that frequently post here. It has a big brother known as the 470 Buck. I have one of those too. Both are very good tractors.

Thanks for your help...I didn't get the tractor. I decided to wait and get something newer. It had no attachments, not even a mower which is what I really need. I'd like to have a front loader at some point also, so I think I'm going to try to find a nice used Kubota. Thanks again for all of your comments... this is a great site, I'm glad I found it!
