I've had this tractor since new(1985). Its always been well serviced and it has 1500 hrs on the clock.I've always used Tractor HT in the trans because occasionally I use it in the winter. Lately I've had a problem with the three point not raising the rear mount mower high enough so I checked to see if the trans was full (it was). So I thought I would drain the oil and clean the filter since the oil had about 200 hrs on it. When trying to refit the filter screen assy. it would not go all the way in. It will go all the way in except the last inch. If I wiggle it around I can feel something loose in there. I'm wondering if this might have something to do with my hydraulic problem also since it appears that the filter might engage the end of the hydraulic return line. I only have an owners manual for this as this is the first problem I've had with it. Any helpful thoughts?
