The Minot's of a 2 year/2000 hour warranty. Covers parts and labor. Total cost for all repairs over the full term of the limited warranty is limited to 50% of the Covered Tractor Purchase Price(from MINOT Brochure the guy at TSC gave me).

I beleive that means once repairs add up to half of what you paid the warranty is over.

Oh, standard equipment includes a 50 watt am/fm CD player /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I expected the TSC marketing team would have picked a better name /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Maybe there is some connection, that I just don't get! A bit surprised they will carry the zl-20 fel, but its OK with me. I will have to keep an eye out for them at our local TSCs, Vestal and Cortland. If the Vestal TSC will carry them, they will be just a stones throw from East Wind, with their DF and Kama chinese tractors.

Unless I'm mistaken, TSC started in Minot ND, thus the name makes sense.

Only a matter of time before there's a "Sam's Choice" Jinma...

Yes, I was told that TSC picked the name not Homier and the city TSC started in was the reason. I wonder how many people will feel more comfortable buying from TSC than a Farm Pro dealer, even though the price is higher, albiet with a stereo? Will TSC have service departments added to their stores or contract it out?, do they know they will have service issues? Is the Jinma tractor ready to be sold to the American consumer off the street who expects to be able to return a product that they are not satisfied with for practically any reason? What will be the buying publics expectations of these tractors? If they go national with this successfully it will make the buying public much more confident in the Jinma tractor. If they have troubles with them, it could tarnish the reputation these tractors have gained these last few years as being a viable alternative for the appropriate buyer. Stay tuned, we'll see.

Regarding the question of service, the TSC manager said that they were about to sign a contract with a local major manufacturer dealer (JD in my local area) to service the Minot/Jinma tractors for warranty and non-warranty items. This includes picking up the broken tractor and delivering it after the repairs are made. If the local contracted repair/service shop can provide this service (repair work/service/parts) successfully TSC may do well selling these tractors.

Let's hope that they're also ASSEMBLED by competent service technicians, and not the TSC stockboys.

Well, they are asembled by Hoimer in Huntington INdiana, likely the most experienced Jinma assemblers in the USA based on sales volume... As for service, I remember a time when some "major brand" dealers would laugh a chinese tractor owner off thier lot trying to get serive, so no is it that if you cant beat them join them? I have also heard that Mahindra will be offering a chinese built tractor (I would guess from the Jaingling plant, makers of the Lenar tractor, which they acquired about a year and a half ago). One thing that remains constant, is constant change!

If each TSC will have to negotiate with local dealers, it will lead to inconsistant service. Each of these local dealers will have to go through the jinma learning curve. Contract dealers expect to make money on the contract, and will not be concerned with customer satisfaction and loyalty. JMHO, I forsee a few bumps in the road for TSC and Minot with service. The plus side is they are using a very experienced assembler, so there should be "less" service issues to deal with.

Well, it sounds like an exec must have overuled the marketing folks, on the name /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif or am I the only one that thinks it a bit odd?

Minot, If you say it with a french accent it sounds like a smal fish. Now as one of over 200 Farm Pro dealers, I can tell you that we are, lets say, less than excited about this new developement. Of course Homier has used multiple channels of distribution in the past, primarily thier own road shows, to sell tractors in competition with thier own dealers. At least this time they are not undercutting the price. Farm Pro dealers are getting the brand new line from 20 to 80hp from Jinma, including some with shuttle. The veneralbe 2wd 20HP that put farm pro on the map is discontinued.

Hmmm, that was hard to tell.... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Time to rent some sign space near your local TSC. "Better Tractor, Better Service, at Lower Price. See your experienced Homier Farm Pro Dealer.

Glad to hear the name came from a location, I thought it was short for Minotaur.

I saw some of these tractors on the lot of the TSC store in Maynardville TN this past week. Although labelled 'Proudly assembled in Indiana' its clear these are made somewhere else. The price point is good but the finish was poor and some of the controls looked like they wouldnt hold up or were poorly located. All of the machines on dispay were fitted w/ Koyker loaders. The bigger machines came w/ a couple rear remotes.

Well, I didn't see any at the Cortland or Vestal NY stores. I drove by a TSC, this week, in Leesburg VA, which looked liked they had some, but I couldn't stop.

Hey John,
They have them in Leesburg. They have them at all of the TSC's around here. It's hard to see them at the Leesburg store due to the people standing around them!!

We always said .."Why not Minot?" "Freezin's the reason"--- /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gifI was at tech school when they sent the entire class before me to Minot -- Our class was shakin in our boots -- but we all got orders close to what we put on our dream sheets. go figger.... TDY to Ellsworth (Rapid City) was as close as I ever got to a northern tier assignment (thank goodness) I think they shoulda picked a better name..... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Perhaps this will add credibilty to the Chinese tractors. Major company selling them, Of coure Northern is a pretty big company and Homier is big too... Your local Jinma/Farm Pro or KAMA dealer will be able to give a lower price. In my area though, many people are more comfortable dealing with a big box retailer.... service bays or not!
