Minor hydraulic leak(s)

We store our new L3130 in a shed with a gravel floor. I have noticed a few small hydraulic oil spots in the dirt. I assume that a few drops of oil here and there when the tractor is stored is probably normal. Is there a particular fitting that I should look to tighten that is notorious for losing a little oil?

You have to locate the leak before you can try fixing it...or else it's just wasted time.

I am having difficulty with this on my L5030 now that I've finished a grapple install. It is the rear-most port on the block where the FEL hoses are attached under the deck. If my reefing didn't fix it yesterday, I'm calling my dealer.

ALL of them.

No way I would say leakage is "normal", ESP. on a new tractor. Gotta find the leak. Look first with tractor off and implements down.

Be very VERY careful trying to isolate a pressure leak. A pinhole leak can make an invisible jet of hydro fluid and ruin your whole day. No kiddin' around.

Don't laugh, but baby powder works well for leak location. Clean it all up and then dust liberally, the leak wets the powder and blammo - you have it.

Baby powder is also wonderful on a saw table - makes the wood g-l-i-d-e nicely

I ran into the same problem when plumbing for my FEL. Take a clean dry rag and make sure that you wipe down all (not just the quick connects) of your connecting points WELL. Just follow all lines and when you hit a connection, wipe it down.

Run the hydraulics a little then shut the tractor of and recheck all of the connecting points again. You should be able to wipe you finger on them and see fluid if it is leaking.

By the way, do not check for the leak when the tractor is running, I have heard that fluid under pressure can really ruin your holidays.
