Mini\'s

Can someone point me in a direction as to where I can find information first hand about mini excavator's? I know the company web sites but I would like to hear it from someone that owns them. I am looking at Kubota but but interested in all manufacturers and want first hand knowledge. Thanks!!!!!!!!

Bummer! I saw your subject line and was all set to share my love of my Mini Cooper with you! Sorry, can't help with the mini excavator, but PM me if you want to chat about really fun cars!

There is quite a bit of info on the construction equipment area of this site. If there is something I can help you with just ask.

Re: Mini\'s

I just bought a kubota K008-3. It is the smallest one they make. I thought of getting a backhoe for my compact tractor and decided to get the 008 instead. I like my tractor with the front end loader and the gearmore box scraper together all the time. I did not want to have to switch back and forth with the box scraper and a backhoe. I will be using the 008 to dig drainage ditches along my drive way, trenches for water and gas lines, and terracing and digging into hillsides. It came with a 14 inch bucket and I also ordered a 10 inch trenching bucket to give me a little more digging force. So far I have only used the 14 inch bucket and dug back into a hillside. After I get a good pile of earth I switch over to the compact tractor and move the dirt to is new home. So far I am very pleased and impressed with this little machine. It is a quality unit, very nice.

By the way...I switched the operating pattern over to "B" or SAE form the International "A" pattern.... This way you can curl the bucket and pull it toward you at the same time.

Re: Mini\'s

What size of kubota excavator are you looking for? The company I work for owns many kubota excavators. (rental company that is)

Re: Mini\'s

Guys, I am trying to decide between Kubota's KX71-3 and a KX91-3. The main concern I have is their capacity to power through rocks and tight clay (this is for a 3/4 mile water line I need trenched 3 1/2 ft), plus remove tree 10-12 inch wide, 25 foot tall hardwoods. Will these machines get the job done? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gifOr would I be wasting my time with a mini? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Anyone with hands on experience of these two mini's?

Steve
