I am hoping to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of owning a Mini skid steer vs a compact tractor for some personal, but mostly business use.

In my case, I need to rototill, power rake, auger holes, use a grapple, level land and do small and larger bucket work. I was leaning to a tractor until I watched this video showing what a Toro Dingo TX 1300 would do. The extension arms seem to make it work better than many others.

Fears are that the comfort factor with tracks on rough surfaces might be an issue. Implements seem more heavy duty, but more expensive. Build quality of mini skid steers seems to be better.

Please help me overthink this!

$60,000 list price for that TX 1300 would buy a lot of tractor and a lot of implements with money left over. And you get to sit down.

If Always working in Very tight confines the Dingo

otherwise a Larger CUT

PTO and 3 point are NICE to have as well Plus the Dingo will be slow moving on a larger job site compared to a tractor

The tracks would have an advantage if you have a lot of thorns. Supposedly, rubber tracks can be less damaging to lawns than R1 tractor tires. Maybe the Dingo would be easier to haul on a smaller trailer than some tractors. Some tree services like Vermeers for doing tree work in backyards where access is limited.

Impliments... hydraulic auger, tiller, ect are going ro be approx 5x the price.

Price a brush cutter for a mini compact track loader compared to the price of a tractor PTO brush cutter.

I have both and a full size skid steer as well. The mini is fine for tight places and small/heavy work. ..But slow as ****. If i could pick just one.. I think it would be a CUT.. It can go over my lawn without tearing it up, can lift fairly reasonable amounts with the FEL. Attachments are reasonable in cost, and id rather sit down doing chores than stand up on a mini.
