Just got this Milwaukee tool chest, top and bottom combined. In terms of capacity and price it compares closely to the new HF top and bottom tool chests. $798 and about 27000 cu in.
I looked at the HF, Craftsman, Husky, and Kobalt as well as some others. All seemed about the same to me, and not as well made as my 20 and 30 year old Craftsman sets. This Milwaukee is at least as good, maybe better, than my old school Craftsman boxes.
The drawers are very smooth and have a self closing mechanism. There is a separate locking drawer and two built in power strips. One of the drawers has a solid pullout working surface. Some of the drawers, as well as the top, are deep enough to accommodate power tools.
I had to order it from Home Depot, took about 2 weeks to get it. Ordinarily I would not buy something like this sight unseen, but my son in law in Wyoming had one that I got to look at up close when we visited a couple months back.
The boxes arrived extremely well packed with no dents or scratches.
It has been about 20 years since I bought a tool chest. Used to be just go to Sears and get a Craftsman. No Brainer. This time I had to do a lot of research and comparison to figure out what to do. Lucky that my son in law had this already, otherwise I would not have been ready to order it even though the specs looked real good.
