Miller Digital Elite welding helmet question

This is a very specific question about the above helmet.

I got the helmet today and I like the way it is put together and fits. One question however. When I pressed the ON switch it turns on, but pushing it a second time (which the usual procedure for an ON-OFF switch) did not turn it off. In the users manual it does describe it as the ON-OFF switch.

Does it just turn off automatically after some time period?

Doesn't seem to be anyway to totally delete a thread but I got the answer to my own question by looking at their on line brochure, it turns off automatically, only

My Miller digital elite is auto on/off, it is 2 years old.

I finally got to use the helmet today doing some stick welding and all I can say is that it is incredible!!

My Jackson helmet has auto-off, but also a separate off switch. Handy for short jobs, but also one more device to fail I suppose.

been a while since I have posted on here, but seen this thread and thought I would let you know that I have a digital elite and you can press and hold down the on and it will shut off,,, seems like I seen that in the owners manual but might be wrong,,,,, hope this helps,,,, ,,,,

update,,, had a chance to check out my helmet today,,, on the inside right hand side are some operating instructions ,,, it says auto off,, or hold down to turn off,,,, knew I seen it somewhere,,, ,,,

My Jackson NextGen has only one switch to cycle through the settings. Auto off or push-and-hold like slagmaker's elite.

I truly love the helmet, but I just let it auto off. Next time I use it I will hold the on button.

I finally got around to reading the owners manual for my 1995 Jeep and found out that I have HEATED MIRRORS!!!!
I'm gonna try to read enclosed literature from now on......15 years of scraping wasted.
