On October 25th 2004, iRobot announced a partnership with John Deere. These two companies will be working together to create the Military R-Gator, an intelligent unmanned ground vehicle that will perform dangerous missions. iRobot's goal is to keep military personnel out of harm's way by working on a new breed of military systems that capitalize on robotic intelligence to handle difficult and dangerous tasks. The R-Gator features forward and rear Scanning Laser Radar sensors which detect obstacles and guide the vehicle, all without human intervention. )</font>
