I am investigating buying a mid mount mower for my B7510HSD. Two choices are available: The RCK54B or RCK54-75B. The 75B is classified as an Enonomy deck. Literature is pretty limited on these 2 mowers. I will Not be using a grass catcher with the mower so this is not a concern. I will need the ability to lock the mower in the up position when using other PTO implements.

Does anyone know the true differences between the mowers and what they would recommend?

The RCK54-24B is a 54" ground contact deck, which means that the height of cut is adjusted by means of gauge wheels on the deck. The RCK54-75B is a 54" suspended deck and doesn't run on the ground. Eith mower can be "pinned up" on a B7510HSD to allow rear PTO use.

Even if I purchase the ground contact mower (RCK54-24B), can I still have the option of mowing without touching the wheels to the ground? I would like to use my PTO to control the height rather than relying on the wheel height all the time.

Do you mean can you use the 3 pt. lift to set your cutting height with the belly mower? You could probably mow with the deck pinned up in the transport position after checking the driveline angles to make sure there weren't any problems there. I don't think the 3 pt lift would help with the cutting height of the belly mower.

It is my understanding the 3 pt. lift controls the raising and lowering of the belly mower when the mower is not in the pinned up position. Am I wrong?

Greetings, I had similar questions in a thread back in Dec concerning the B7510 & the economy MMM. I ended up contacting Kubota as neither of the two Kubota dealers I was dealing with had ever sold one so they didn't know anything about it.

Basically what Kubota told me (yes, Kubota called me back on this ) was that the 54" economy deck is the same deck as the std 54" with the exception of having the cheaper anti-scalp wheels & much less robust brackets as opposed to the heavy duty gauge wheels & brackets on the std deck. Everything else was the same on the decks.

I was also told that cutting depth was maintained by special locking pins on the modified lifting brackets that attached to the 3PH. The MMM can be raised & returned to the pinned height without leaving the seat but to lower the MMM beyond the pinned height requires one to dismount and manually change the pin setting on the depth brackets.

I was also told that I could operate rear attached implements w/either MMM installed and that they could be locked in the up position so as to give max ground clearance.

Kubota is going to release a special edition B7510 around Mar or Apr that is going to have a floating 60" MMM that is very similar to the BX's MMM. It is supposed to have a depth setting wheel like the BX and not require you to have to dismount to change the settings. It is supposed to be spring balanced as well.
Perhaps they'll have a retro kit for exisitng B7500/7510's. I don't know if this will be available or not but it would be worth talking to a Kubota dealer about.

Can someone with the RCK54-24B let me know what the outside width is?
I am thinking of getting one but want to make sure it will fit on my trailer.
How much does flipping up the deflector give you? Thanks for the info.

I don't have a RCK54-24B, but the manual for my RCK60-24B shows the total width for the RCK54-24B as 1,695 mm or 66.7 in. I will be going to the barn in 1/2 hour and will measure how much width is saved with the deflector chute in the raised position.

rziprik221 - Here is what I found:

The deflector on my 2003 RCK60-24B makes up 10-1/4" of the total width of the deck. The deck is currently not mounted on the tractor, and the deflector will rotate up far enough to "lose" the entire 10-1/4", HOWEVER, I don't believe it can rotate up this far when the deck is mounted to the tractor. When on the tractor, you might only "lose" 7". There is a single spring-loaded pin that fastens the deflector to the deck. I don't know how difficult it would be to remove and reinstall the spring and pin.
