Massey Harris MH50
The front hydraulic pump input shaft broke on my Massey Harris MH50 for my Davis 101F loader. The original parts book shows it as 1086008M1 with a THREADED end to the tractor. Mine is 3/4" but 6 SPLINED to the engine, sort of like Ford compacts except for the fact mine is 18" long not 9-13". I can't find a shaft like this anywhere. ACGO has the PN but again the end is threaded not 6 splined. I can't even find 3/4" 6-splined stock long enough to cut down, except maybe McMaster-Carr for a ton of money. Any idea what is going on with mine? It has the original Continental gas engine so a different input for the shaft confuses me. Thanks, Bob

You need the help of a good machine shop. Make the shaft from a chunk of hyd rod stock (1045) and mill the splines on a milling machine using a dividing head or super spacer.
You may end paying close to the price of the stock presplined from McMaster ($250?), but the McMaster stuff still needs tweaking.
