The coupling or shaft driving the auxillary pump for the loader broke. can anyone tell me the best easiest way to remove from front of engine? Does it bolt onto the pulley or what? the pump end is a spline. Any help is greatly appreciated.
The shaft is attached to a round mounting plate that bolts to the crank pulley. The shaft should be able to be removed from the mount. Some were threaded, some keyed. Sometimes you can get them apart & save work of trying to get that mount out. If your's is in 2 pieces it would allow to remove the mount with the broken piece possibly? Does the shaft go through the front axle pin?
Yes the shaft goes through the front axle pin. The pump end is splined and after reading that it may be threaded onto other end I recall seeing what looks like pipe wrench teeth marks on the spline end. The shaft itself almost looks like a section of hydraulic hose with a spring or wire inside. It twisted apart where it goes through the axle.
