I was running my new (to me) 2005 MF1440 in deep snow and snagged a coolant hose on something. There is a small plastic linkage on the under side to the right - this linkage broke. It moves the coolant in an L shape and seems to have a white plastic drain plug integrated in to the unit. The whole piece is perhaps 2 inches long and attaches to the frame with a bolt. My question is this - until I can find the exact right replacement part, is there any reason I shouldn't just join the 2 hoses together with a simple plastic fitting? I've tried to attach a pic of the broken piece.

Thanks for the help!!
