In the process of bleeding my MF135 because of starting problem loosened the fuel lines near the injector. I also loosened the 3rd rear most injector line. When I screwed it back and did the bleed process again and then tightening the nut the not tightened right down till there was no thread. As a result fuel is squirting out despite the nut being tight and the fuel line being seated.
Its looks like I have gained a extra 1/4 inch of space and the nut covers the thread all the way unlike the other injectors which have at a 1/4 inch of thread exposed. It does not appear that I have damaged the end nipple on the fuel line.

Did the MF135 have a seal or olive in this nut? Because it currently wont tighten sufficiently to prevent the fuel squirting out? The only other option is a new injector fuel line.

Any ideas how I can fix this problem?

I also wondered if I have to replace the injector line with a steel/aluminum line or does a flexible fuel line to the injector work?

Thanks

Just buy a new pipe, there are a million shops selling these parts online or go to your local MD dealer, and no you can't make this or use hoses.

But have you taken of the pipe and founder the problem?

On those older machines the line had a removable compression nut end..
IF u took the line completely off to bleed the system{shouldn't have} it might have fallen off OR its stuck in the injector & the line came out.??
IF its in the injector, just push the line in it & w/ pressure on the line, tighten the nut.. good luck

I will buy a new line as a last resort. I just want to understand whats going on. And since theres so many variations on how these tractors were assembled you really never know what they did. As great as the parts manuals are, in my book the manual is illogical. The English manuals wont even tell you the bolt size or thread, UNC or UNF etc. The USA manual had the decency to put bolt sizes in the parts manuals. I know its not hard to work out but making statements like "washer" or "Spring" without any further information does not make it a "parts manual" You buy a manual and it tells you nothing that you could not figure out, they assumed you assembled these tractors everyday of your life! Anyway thats my frustration let out!

I did not remove the line as such when I loosened the nut the line jumped out because it was poorly orientated and positioned. I tried to massage it so that it was naturally lined up.

I will have a closer look to see whats going on. The end ferrule fits nicely in the injector but I cant really tighten it down because of the missing bit. I can see the swaged end and it looks ok. There must have been a olive or something behind it that fell out. I will fiddle with it.

I can start the tractor with ether, it actually runs and is squirting out lightly. The access is really a pain in the rear end. I had to loosen the fuel tank and prop it up with a block of wood just to get a short stump wrench in there to loosen or and tighten the nut I even had to grind the wrench/spanner ends down to get it to swing. I really dont know what MF was thinking when they put the tank and other obstructions in the way of items that had to be accessed easily.

I found a place that can swage on a new fitting so I might try that. I think I will just remove the pump and the injectors and get them serviced now that I am in this area. Its something i dont really want to do again!

Thanks for the help, any suggestion is helpful and I always listen and try everything. Which is why like forums.

Check the price on a new pipe, paying someone to fix the old doesn't make sense.

G'day Charlie as said numerous suppliers of aftermarket inj lines the cheapest and easiest to find will prob be a Sparex dealer it has prob broken the backup washer behind the flare on the pipe, if your pipe was not lining up properly in the first place then someone has either bent it or had the wrong one on it, new pipe will prob only set you back $15 and should fit straight up

OK I am in Melbourne.

Its all sorted now. It was a big job pulling off the hood and pulling the tank out.

The original injector thread was not in good condition. I ran a die over it and bent the pipe to line it all up. I got a set of new pipes. The injectors were worn out originals that were never serviced. It was cheaper to get a new set of injector but I will get the originals reconditioned for spares. Its all good now.
