MF/Ford Compatibility?

In perusing the wares at the local TSC, I am surprised by the number of parts that seem to be compatible -- Bumpers, weights, seats, some exhaust components -- between Massey Ferguson and Ford tractors. Why is that? The same is not apparently true of John Deere.

once upon a time Henry Ford and Harry Ferguson had a hand shake partnership. That eventually fell apart. This is why the early tractors of each a very similiar.
