MF 471/Mahindra 6000/Case Jx65

I've been trying to figure out what tractor to buy for a couple of months and I cant seem ti make my mind up on which to buy. I have used dads old David Brown 990 for a couple of years and a Case 1190 to do all the work around the farm and it's time to buy a new tractor but what? I like the new Mahindras but owners either love em' or hate em' . . . . I like MF's but my dad for some reason doesnt like them? (reasons for chosing the 471 is because I need more then 45pto the 451 has and the 461 I have priced are higher then the 471) and I have to admit I'm a BIG Case fan but I dunno if they are really worth the money as the Jx65 has been the Higher priced of the 3. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I cant make my mind up . ..

The 400 series isn't a high tech model in an way, but it is a good dependable tractor that has had several up grades over the years. If that is what you are looking for, you won't find a better tractor. If you like high tech and or more options and up grades look at MF 5400 series.

I recently bought a MF 471 4wd shuttle shift. I didn't consider the mahindra because I've had experience with buying off branded tractors and not being able to get parts for them 15 years later. The case that's more comparable to the MF 471 is the JX75. If you look up the nebraska tractor tests the MF 471 came in at 66 PTO horsepower, the JX75 at 60, and the JX65 at 50. I did consider a JX75 but there weren't any close dealers and the massey seemed to be more popular (again, more likely to find parts 15 years down the road).

So far I'm very happy with the massey, it's a good solid, strong tractor.
