I have a 35 Massy Fergerson with 3pt hitch problems. I have seen some post before that help you diagnose the problem while looking in the side excess. My main two problems are 3pt hitch with even only a back blade drops as soon as clutch is pushed in. the second problem is once you lift heaver item bush hog several times 3pt loses its ability to lift. My model has the shuttle shift and my pump only runs when shuttle is in F/R . I have changed the Hyd fluid no excess wear or broken parts found . I replaced the large spring on top link had excessive play and found the lift control and draft they seem now to make the correct contact with hyd valve. I did buy the MF 35 Hyd DVD was disappointed that it did not cover diagnostic.

When you changed the fluids was it contaminated with water. A trick I recently read here is to take a drop or two fluid (original) and put it in a spoon then heat it with a lighter. If it pops and sizzles it was water in the fluid. Was this tractor working when you bought it? It it stored outside in the cold? Protected against rain and snow? There was an earlier discussion with similar issues. Your answers may lead to the same results. -kid

Water seemed to have been very minimal oil looked like coffee with lots of milk. Bought tractor at auction arms went up down fine until hooked up 3pt hitch. Tractor is outside same problem during the summer as winter.

Water in the oil is bad JuJu especially in the winter. Water can freeze in places you don't want to freeze such as hydraulic pumps. This is being discussed in another thread where the owner will either rebuild or replace the hydro pump and some other freeze damage internally. Not saying this is your problem but sounds like one being discussed with similar issues. -kid
