MF 275 power steering

What is the remedy for buggered threads in the tapered shaft of the ball joint/rod ends of the power steering cylinders?

I am sure I am not the first to have this problem. The "ends" appear inseparable from the piston rod and the cylinder housing.

G,Day MarkMCM.
You can buy replacement rod ends ,cut the damaged unit of ,cutting it at or as near to the end as possible and prep the end up ,extend the ram as far out as possible this will make sure the ram seals dont get hot ,maybe even weld a bit at a time and dont be in a hurry that would be the easiest and best fix.
Note to remove a track rod end/ balljoint first undo the nut leave it on by say two threads then get two hammers say one four pound and one two pound carefully locate the heavy hammer on the SIDE of the steering arm ,the one the rod end goes through and with the two pound hammer give the opposite side a good crack what you are trying to do is momentarily SHRINK the taper you will find it wont take more than two cracks to loosen it of ,when loose remove the nut that was protecting the threads.
Thats it Easy.

I just got the tractor and the nuts on the tapered shafts had been allowed to loosen and bugger the threads closest to the taper preventing the tapered shaft from being properly tightened.

Although the threads are damaged have you tried to tighten the nut???If not try to tighten the nut and if you find the ball is turning get a long crowbar and push the ball down onto the taper and at the same time tighten the nut,worth a try.
