MF 1710 Backhoe

Ok, I am the former owner of two Massey Ferguson tractors, but now own a new JD 5045E.....no flaming please, MF's are great tractors....

I'm going to look at a Massey Ferguson 1710 3 pt. hitch Backhoe that has hardly been used, about 10 years old I think. Mounted on a MF 240, which is a smaller tractor than my 50 frame/45hp JD.

I cannot find anything using Google about a MF 1710 Backhoe, and wonder if anyone here knows anything. Mahindra makes a 1710 Backhoe, and I'm wondering if the MF 1710 isn't one actually made by Mahindra. Be easy because they are the same color!

One thing I'm picking up and need info for is they Mahindra backhoes come for three different tractor sizes, and have different sub-frames....

Any guidance or knowledge here is greatly appreciated!

I think you should search for a 1017 model. My guess is that the model # is mixed a bit.

That backhoe was built way before Mahindra became any kind of player in North America.

he said the manual says it will go on any large tractor - up to a MF 360, with no subframe, and will handle a 24" bucket....bought it new, rarely used, less than 1/2 original price so I'm inclined to get it once I see it .
