I’m new to tractor ownership. Bought an older tractor (year?… late 60s?). MF 165
At idle (low rpm) lift arms go up/down as they should when I raise/lower the lever.
However, while lever is in the down position if I rev the engine to higher RPMs the left arms creeeep up slowly … all the way up.
A previous owner put a hydraulic diverter (maybe wrong term?) that sits right under the seat. Goes to a single hose out the back of the tractor. When that diverter is turned to “rear hydraulic position” the lift arm lever does not activate the lift arms (as they shouldn’t), but the lift arms DO NOT creep up at higher RPMs.
Is there something in that diverted box that’s causing the problem?
Second issue: slight leak from “side gasket” in the injector pump. Can I replace this by simply pulling off plate, replacing gasket, installing plate? Any issues with the timing (I heard importing timing alignment statements on some rebuild videos). Not my pump, of course - stock photo from internet
Thank you in advance for your help.
