Recently, I have read posts concerning jerky loaders and felt relieved that I have not had any such problems. My luck ran out today when after pushing brush my loader became very jerky. I stopped the tractor and checked the fluid level but it was full. When I restarted the tractor the 3 point would not lift the rotary mower and the front end loader would not work at all. Next, I made a visual inspection and found the problem. The pump suction tube is a two piece setup with a gap of about one inch between and short rubber hose conneting the two tubes. The rubber hose had collapsed. Apparently, a limb had got caught on the hose clamp and pushed it and the front part of the hose back causing the hose to fold shut.
After making the repair, I started the tractor but the loader still would not work even after I let the tractor run about 30 seconds. I had to remove the pressure tap plug at the pump momentairly to get the pump to prime. Hope this bit of information will help someone out someday as other posts have helped me out.
