How good are the meteor snowblowers ,Im looking at a new 75" model with the hydo chute for 2800 out the door I will be putting it on a kubota l4200 witch has around 40hp at pto
I have a 75 inch meteor with hydraulic chute rotations...it replaced a 60 inch meteor with manual chute rotation I had for a number of years. When I upbraded to a 3320 w/cab a few years ago I decided to go wider w hydraulic chute rotation. Never had a problem with any of them.
U 25 Super Series Mini Excavator, Kubota B2320, Kubota L3400 HST with FEL and QA forks, Kubota RTV 500
I have a 64 inch meteor behind my L3400 it will blow it's full width and depth without any issues. Mine is amnual chute but it works really well:thumbsup:
I bought my 75" Meteor about 3 years ago for 1900. I ordered it with manual chute control but it came with Hyd. Salesman said they were only charged for Manual so there was no increase in cost.
It's been a work horse. Just keep The zirks greased and put some motorcycle chain lub on the chain a few times each season.
We average about 140" of snow per season, not counting the drifts!
I looked at a 72" meteor snowblower listed on CL about a year ago...and my only issue with it was the thickness of the steel on the body and augar didnt look as thick as other brands 72-75" units. Otherwise it looked well built.
I owned a 60 inch and ran it behind a 28hp tractor, I have a half mile long driveway and found it to be slow death. It took almost 4 hours to do all my driveway. I had to go very slow because the blower could not handle the snow. It didn't bog down the tractor it just couldn't handle the volume. I can do the same driveway in about 30 minutes with a 7 foot plow on the tractor.
