Metal 40’ Chicken house truss pole barn

I used some pictures I found on this site to help build this shed made from recycled chicken house trusses. I wanted to share the pictures for anyone looking as it was very limited information anywhere on the internet regarding this type of pole shed.

My building ended up being 40’x60’ and is about 12’ 6” on the outsides. I used 6x6 treated post for the legs and notched the top to accept and bolt the truss. This building is very solid with very little to no movement after construction. For the cost of materials, roughly $5,500, you can not beat the price!

Thanks, I’m in NC. Very low snow load. I have 2x6’s running diagonals on the bottom of the perlins for the diagonal bracing. Building seems very sturdy with very little to no movement laterally when on top of the roof. May go back and add diagonal cable brace from center peak to end 6x6 off each side for more bracing, but doesn’t feel necessary right now.
