McCormick TYM tractor

I have a McCormick X1.35 that will not start on low idle, meaning I have to raise the idle lever so that when it does start, it starts at 1500-2000 RPMs range. I thought it could be the electric fuel lift feed pump, so I replaced it with a new one, and it is still doing the same thing. In operation, you have to constantly adjust the throttle lever to meet the load, whether it's a load with the bucket or using the PTO. It will bring the idle down under load. If you are just traveling up an incline with just the tractor, you need to raise the RPM, but when you come down the incline, your RPMS will race to 3000 +. Any suggestions on what to try?

Your machine is much like a Branson/TYM 3620 with a 4-cylinder, 2.0L built by Kukje right?

How many hours on the tractor? When was last service and what was done? I would start with the simple stuff first but the description of the issue needs a little more detail for us to understand exactly what is going on.

The tractor has 430 hours on it. It was serviced at the dealership at 350 hours. I have drained the fuel and replaced the simple filters. It used to start up with no problem at the lowest idle setting. Now, it will not start unless you adjust the throttle lever about halfway, which will allow it to start, but at a very elevated RPM of 2000+, if you try to idle down below 1000, the tractor will shut itself off. Driving, you have to constantly adjust the idle depending on the elevations, and the workload on the tractor(using any attachment or PTO bogs the tractor down).

Wondering if the DPF, or DOC in this case, is so clogged that won't let the tractor run.

I would inspect the air filter to start with. I do however agree with ptsg that the DPF may be clogged. Could you post a picture of the DPF or DOC of this tractor. There may be a plug before the filter that could be removed to see if it will run better as a test.

Is there any warning lights on the dash?

You might could remove this tube as a test for the exhaust. But I would think a light would be on if the filter was plugged.

So I would just remove that tube? Then start it and see if that makes a difference.
