I received Ken's bolt on hooks but have not installed them yet. I will put a few on the loader and one on the backhoe.

In case I encounter an especially heavy rock or something similar, is the loader, or backhoe, the stronger lifting force? Or, due to hydraulic pressure, are they equal?

Well i can say i had a good 800 pounds on the loader a couple of weeks ago, I could lift it no problem but i Didnt have the back ho on so the rer nted to come up. I could only lift the load maybe a foot of the ground to keep it balanced.

700 pounds of packages and my debri fork 100 pounds.

IIRC, Axle posted somewhere he tested the DL95 loader with some paver stones and it lifted 900+ lbs... so a significant lift capacity for it's size. Just have to make sure you have enough ballast to lift that much. I am sure with a increase PRV and enough ballast you can reach 1100+ lbs... but that would be max I assume and not to be done on a regular basis.

I find my loader to be much stronger. The position of the backhoe arm makes a huge difference. With the arm in the closest position to the tractor it is pretty stout. If you extend the arm all the way out it will hardly lift anything. Now, if you are using the curl motion of the backhoe to lift, it is stronger than the loader, but the loader is stronger than the boom of the backhoe.

Plowhog, as clipse mentioned, I was doing some testing about weight lifting with my gc1715. I have a quick attach on my fel. It weighs 70+ lbs and allows me to drop the 155 pound bucket and put on my forks and lift some good weight with the fel arms and forks. However my testing was designed with the lift being up 1 foot and 3 foot off the ground. Lifting heights effects capacity and above 3 feet it also is stability as a concern too. And front wheels and axle are smaller too. My forks can also be used on the 3 pt . . . and that is the strongest location on the gc1700s because it is on the bigger stationary axle with bigger tires and much reduced leverage issues. I've had my forks and 1000 pounds on the 3 pt. But I wasn't trying to lift anymore than that . . So I don't know the limit. And of course the 3 point has a height limit.

But I realize that means not the backhoe attached.

As others mentioned . . the backhoe is a great tool but its real strength comes when its arms are extended and its working from a stationary position.

I have to edit my post above the weight was probably around 500 pounds on the fel.
