This is the first time I used my BB2572 box scaper on one of my own tractors.

Over 8 years ago my former neigbor "borrowed" my new BB.

I always did my BB work using his Kubota L3400 (with Loaded Rears). The Kubota kind of struggled doing any serious work with the BB, but was fine in light grading applications.

About 2 years ago I got the BB back, after they lost their farm, & sold off their tractor. I never bothered to use the BB Blade, untill yesterday.

It looks a little funy on the back end of my Max28.

I hung the BB off of my Quick Attach, behind my 500 Lb custom designed counter weight.

The max had n troulbe lifting 1,200 lbs on the hitch.

I have the FEL installed plus about 130 lbs in front weights also.

With my butt in the seat, toatal weight is about 4,000 lbs.

Will the max handle a 6FT BB?
No.

But for grading my drive and spreading sand in the manure pit, It did rather well. I was pleasantly suprized.

So do not fear a heavy duty 5' BB for your Max26/28, as I think it will do just fine especially with loaded tires.

I agree that a 6' Box Blade is a 'wee too big for that tractor'. However, if you step down a size or two you will find that they handle them fine. I use a small 4' Kodiak branded Box Blade behind my Max and it seems a bit too light when grading a "gravel drive". The Box itself is light and certainly not one of those high dollar jobs. It will do the job once the box grabs a wheelbarrow load full and performs as expected. One thing for certain I pretty much have to go a slow as the tractor will allow to get the Box Blades lower edge to 'bite into the driveway'; this of course is when the ground is dry and hard as a rock.

Rippers that came on the box blade do wonderfully in the woods and I have pulled many of roots while only utilizing half of them in the lowered position.....the other 2 are stowed high- if all are deployed in the lowest position I have created an artificial anchor that stops the tractor it in it's tracks.

I have never (bogged the engine) it is just to light weight to get the traction needed to pull a full ensemble of ripper teeth through the clay soil here in GA. I will confess that I accidentally hooked a root that was rather large and raised the 3pt hitch which snapped the root like a twig. It was the first time I had Loaded the hydraulics' to the point of where you could hear it working.

I am sure that it would pull a larger box behind it; but traction would be the only issue that I could foresee.
