We just bought a well kept up MH 33. We are trying to use it for food plots, there are hose adapters for our hydraulic cylinder, but we can make the cylinder lift our impliments but won't pull them back down. Just gravity takes it down only so far. There are other ports I can move the hoses to but thought maybe someone on here could help...maybe even with a picture. There has been some modifications done to it so I am even more confused. I have the original manual but that isn't helping. HELP! and Thanks!

Are you using a double or single acting cylinder? Is there any kind of screw valve that can be turned to change the valve from single acting to double acting or vice versa. Had an old Massey 22 on the farm with a loader that had single acting cylinders for the lift and a trip bucket but never had to mess with the valve for any reason. Can't even remember how the valve looked. I'll try to look for further info and post back.

I cannot find any parts listing for an auxiliary valve for a MH 33. The only information is for a MH 333 which is a later year. Does the tractor have a single or double lever hydraulic valve? If it is a double lever, does it have a third knob on one sid or the other and are you using the outlets on the same side of the valve? If so this possibly is the valve to change from single to double action. either pull up on it or push it in may correct your problem. If you have a double handle valve try switching to the other outlets.

It has a single lever valve. Right now we are hooked up to the same end of the cylinder but on opposite sides. I just talked my step dad and when they went into the other port, it extends the cylinder no matter which way you move the lever. They are right now in process of trying the last port opening. If that doesn't work they are moving both hoses to the same side and after that we are going to punt. We are trying to tie into the 3 point cylinder but maybe that is where we are going wrong? It was one of the main reason we bought the tractor because it is listed as a double acting cylinder for the three point system. I would think the the hose for the cylinder would/should/could be the same. There isn't too much information about the MH 33 online, knowing that I would have made a different purchase, but it runs like a charm and we have redone all the wiring, changed oil etc......So far I really like it, except for the hydraulics. If I have time tonight I will take a picture of the situation we are dealing with and post it.

Thanks!

Well.......We got it to work after about 4 different combinations of hose connecting......I appreciate your time looking for an answer to help me out!! I am sure I will be back on with other questios as we start to refurbish it this winter!

Thanks!!!!

Am I understanding the situation correctly? The problem was the hookup of the hoses to the cylinder and not the tractor? Just trying to understand what the fix was.
