What would you all buy? Massey might be $500 or less cheaper. Looking at a brand new GC1723 with backhoe and a used 2019 Yanmar Sa324 with a backhoe that has 46 hours. Will be brush hogging, using a box blade, scraper blade, york rake, snow removal. I plan to level and grade about an acre of pretty rough property and do the ground work for a pole barn. Will be taking many trees down, lots of stumps and rocks to dig up. Will be using a box blade a fair amount. The yanmar still has about 6 months of bumper to bumper and 8.5 years left on powertrain warranty. Massey will have 5 year powertrain.
Both dealers are comparable distance, both seem like solid places to work with. Will be paying cash so financing doesn't matter.

Pros for Yanmar over Massey: 300 lbs more lift on front loader, 700 lbs more breakout force for front bucket, almost 600 lbs more lift on rear arms, bigger front bucket, position indicator for 3 point, more warranty years, arm rests, float function on front loader, almost 2 inches more ground clearance

Pros for Massey over Yanmar: it's new, tilt steering that ever so slightly edges out comfortability, standard SSQA, 400 lbs more dipperstick force for backhoe, 3 point arms stay on with backhoe attached.

What would yall do? I like both and really can't decide.

I myself would buy the Yanmar for all of the Pros that you listed. Better tractor all way around, but in the end your decision. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Honestly, I haven't driven the Yanmar but, I really like the MF1723/1725. You can't go wrong with either tractor just make sure that is the size tractor you need for the job you have planned.

Just my opinion and you asked. The tractors are both good but different classes. Subcompact vs compact. The difference in capacity in the FEL would be a consideration for me for what I do. You have to decide if if is significant for you. Unless you do a lot of BH work, you probably wouldn't notice the difference in that attachment. Just my opinion but I prefer the smaller tractor with the stronger BH. A downfall of tractors with FELs and BHs are the lack of maneuverability. The jobs you intend to do with the tractor should decide what you want along with the dealer that is local and that you are able to deal with. There are a lot of tasks and attachments that overlap in both tractors. For me the dealer weighs heavily in an equipment purchase. I'll trade a few likes or dislikes of something to have a dealer that I can trust and make a deal with.

According to Tractor data they are both about the same size subcompacts.
I do think dealer support and attention is good advice.
Both seem very similar in specs and hydraulic flow.

Duly noted. I had looked at the factory specs from the OEM and Yanmar called it a compact but the classes are close anyway. What was mentioned by the OP was pretty close in what they would do. I have a Cub Cadet/Yanmar and can't say I dislike the tractor but the dealer network would make me not ever buy another one. My thoughts have always been that a good dealer makes the deal worthwhile. Not always in bottom $$ but services/parts or buying other machines or equipment.

Ended up going with the Yanmar. After thinking about the things I'll be using it for, I figured the extra capacities is the route I'd go. For the record, both dealers seem to be excellent in my area. Just found this one on Marketplace and couldn't pass it up.
