Massey Ferguson 431
Hi All,

I'm new to the form and wanted to see if someone had a Tractor similar to mine that could send me some pictures. I have a Massey 431 that I want to add rear remotes. I have been to 2 different Dealers with no luck of finding a kit to add them. I also have not found a aftermarket kit for the 431. If someone has a Massey 431 that already has rear remotes I would like to see pictures of how they tied into the system. I have seen many 431 Tractors on the internet that has rear remotes but cant see how they are tied in. I guess I will have to buy a similar aftermarket kit and figure out how to tie it in. If anyone has a 431 it would be much appreciated if you could take me some pictures.

Do you have a loader on your tractor? If yes, how many hoses on the loader valve, 6 or 7?

Do you have power steering? If yes does it have its own pump?

Dave,

No the Tractor does not have a Loader but would like at some point to add one. The Tractor does have Power Steering and does have its own pump.

So then the hydraulic pump only powers the 3 pt hitch correct?

I assume there is a hard steel line running from the pump to the 3 pt valve.

In simple terms, you need to buy a control valve (two spool one is fine) that has the optional power beyond feature. Often you order the valve and the power beyond sleeve or plug which you screw into the valve body yourself.

The two spool valve controls the rear remotes.

The valve will have an IN and a TANK port. The IN is the line from the pump. The TANK port needs to be directed back into the hydraulic reservoir which is usually the transmission case.

The Power Beyond port on your new valve is used to supply the 3 pt hitch.

Often owners connect a hose to the pump in place of the hard line and connect this hose to the IN on the new valve.

As far as connecting the hard line to the 3 pt valve to the power beyond port, you need the help of a hydraulic specialty shop. They can cut the hard line and attach fittings which will mate with hoses.

Since the tractor is not old, you likely can buy a hydraulic block which will go into the existing line. Often they are expensive.

Are there any devices in the line from the pump?

I have provided two pages from a Kubota B7100 WSM explaining the hydraulic block and how it is altered to ad more hydraulic circuits.
