Massey Ferguson 2706e
Does anyone else have an 2705 or 2706E? Wandering if your 3 point lift arms are like mine. I know it痴 a gravity system, but when I知 the up position normally on all other tractors I have owed or been around. When you lower the arms without any attachement hooked up the arms will lower them selfs without having to get off the tractor and push them. The new Massey 2706E I have when lowering I have to get off and push down every time they need to be lowered when nothing is hooked up. This is getting aggravating. I know it痴 new and everything痴 thight still, but the new john Deere痴 were never like this. End up having to lower all the way down and then hook up to everything by getting off and lifting the arms up to the Lynch pins. I have adjusted and played with the speed adjustment knob under set few difficulty time and nothing has helped. Anyone else having this problem or is this just a Massey thing? Thanks

It's not a Massey thing, something is wrong with the relief knob. You should be able to open the valve and the arms go down by themselves.

Exactly what Inwas thinking, but dealer told me once the new wore off and it lifting some heavy implements that the seals and new paint would wear and it would be lowering on its own in no time. I didn’t think being new should have anything to do with it.

I should add that the relief knob/control does work as it will lock the arms up to where you can稚 push them & also control how fast you can push the arms up and down. They just want fall on their own when nothing attached and knob twisted as far as it will allow in the fastest setting.

My Massey units are the same way, 1648 & 1652... Which are very similar to your machine. I just keep as small stick in the cab so I can reach back and push down the arms with the stick. My machines have been that way since new, my current 1652 is around 1000 hours now and it's exactly the same as when new.

Must just be the way Iseki builds them...

My 2705 is same way and very frustrating. Each MF on dealer lot same and not the under seat knob. Have been trying to get dealer/massey to come with a solution as it would have been a deal breaker for me(so far no help from them). Hard to believe they would ship thinking this is ok as even owners manual says lever lowers arms. Otherwise love tractor but, i know this is not right. My concern is production stopped due to this flaw that can affect future parts availabilty. Please keep us informed if viable solution is available.

I don't think it's a flaw, looks like it's been the case for many years. It's just the way they designed it. You can easily get around it by keeping a stick or something near the operator station by the seat. Just reach back and push down on the arms when you need to lower them from the seat.

Not sure about many years as not the case with my 1233 or others i have operated as well as manual clearly stating the lever raises and lowers lift arms. Should not need a stick on such a major purchase bought new.

Yes I agree it’s very frustrating. Your correct the manual clearly states that the lift arms should raise and lower with the operation of the hydraulic level. Also goes in to detail about adjusting the control speed knob. This is way I reached out to my dealer, but was told after a lot of use it would start lowering own its own that all the newness has to wear off and everything is still tight being it’s a gravity system. I love the tractor, but if I would have caught this issues while researching our new tractor I would have went with the John Deere 4044M. Had tractor delivered to me so and didn’t notice when smoking it over when it arrived.

Lol I can't imagine that's a reason to go with a different tractor ... !? When there is more than a couple pounds on the lift arms, they'll lower with the lever. The only time it comes into play is when you are trying to lower empty arms to mount an implement... In which case you can reach back and push down on the arms with something. It's really not a big deal...

I work my machines so they're definitely broken-in. The majority of the 1000 hours on my 1652 are while using a rear implement. It hasn't changed the lift arm operation at all.
