Massey Ferguson 1220

I've been looking for a compact tractor for a while, and have mostly focused on the grey markets. I recently found a Massey Ferguson 1220, 4x4, w/FEL, 1200 hours, for about $6500. It runs great, but has some cosmetic issues (someone painted it with a spray can, ugly). Decent price (remember, this is California)?

I know nothing of the MF compacts. Anyone know where/who makes these? I assume most compacts are foreign, but not sure. Are these as reliable as a similarly sized Yanmar or Kubota? Are parts readily available for them?

Go to tractortips.com. Link They have a specs page and also a year and serial number altho the info can get abit thin on these hobby machines. The 12xx series are Iseki tractors, a reputable manufacturor from Japan.

This is not a grey market tractor. It's supported by AGCO (MF), built to conform to US standards (ROPS, safety labels, PTO splines, direction, etc)

Your MF dealer has all the manuals that you will ever need. You should be able to get a full set of shop, engine, parts, loader, and backhoe for under a $100. That puts them in as the least expensive manuals on the market as far as I know.

I've done an extensive search for manuals for you. Here are the results:
Service Manual (rare) $54.95 Jensales Choose tractor manuals on the left side, then 1220 on the list.

Thanks for the responses! I ordered the shop manual from Jensales. Now I'm on the hunt for an operators manual. The tractor I got was repainted, and they stripped off all decals and never replaced them. So I have a couple little levers and knobs that I don't even know what they are for.

So, looking for operator manual, and eventually some replacement decals. The nearest Massey parts dealer is about 75 miles away, and I don't get down there much, so online stores are the best, but I may just have to make the trip.
