this is my First Post. I have recently bought a 1020 Massey Ferguson with low hrs, seems to be in good condition. but I noticed a slow leak of Hydraulic fluid from the rear axle. It appears to be something like a freeze plug, it is located between the Hydraulic oil drain plug and where the bracket for the draw bar bolts on. I can not find it on the parts diagram. Should I try silicone or something similar to seal it. I don't know what it's intended use is. It appear to be about the same size as the Oil drain opening. any info would be appreciated, thanks

Just an update. I added fluid to the system. It took a little over a gallon to fill it up. The leak stopped when I added the fluid. I am glad, but I don't understand it. I gave the little tractor a good work out, by mowing 4 or 5 acres and still not leak.

I also found that the Hydro transmission MF 1020 has a Mid range PTO. The Opening in the rear axle appears to be where this would mount. They must use the same rear axle houseing for both types of transmissions. Well just an update in case anyone was interested. thanks
