Massey Ferguson 1017 backhoe run speed question

I have a question on PTO run speed
The MF 1017 backhoe says it requires a 540 PTO output.
The backhoe manual says running the tractor at 1000 to 1200 rpms is suggested as optimum speed for most operations.
My question is what is the normal rpm on a MF 1030 tractor to get 540 pto output? 2500 rpm?
Also what would be the expected HP of 25hp motor at 1000 to 1200 rpms?

I have a MF 1020 that is a 21 hp engine [rated 17 hp @ pto]. It requires about 2533 engine rpm to generate the correct 540 rpm pto speed. As I have been shopping for a replacement tractor [this one needs a few more horses], I have found that there seems to be a +/- 5 hp differential between engine rating and pto power delivery. Now, keep in mind my target engine size has been in the 30 hp range, so it might actually be a flat percentage loss between engine rating and pto delivery [which make way more sense], but I have not spent the time to discover that ratio.

Venturing a guess,then, the output of your 1030 at 1-1.2k rpm is likely to be in the 10-12 hp range. But if the hoe is pto pump driven, that may well be enough...

Does the 1017 backhoe plug directly into the tractor's hydraulics, or does it have its own hydraulic pump that is PTO driven?

TractorData says the 1030 has a hydraulic flow of 5.4gpm, so I'd assume you'd have to crank up the RPM in order to get a decent hydraulic flow to get much happening with the backhoe.

TractorData also says the 1030's engine is rated at 2,500rpm, so I'd assume PTO speed would be somewhere north of 2,000rpm. Is the PTO speed RPM not indicated on your tach?
