Massey 573 or Mahindra 6530?

Hello I am new to the forum and would appreciate some input on my tractor decision.Yesterday I looked at a new Massey 573 at the dealer which is 20 miles south of me and a great guy, the price 26000.00. I have been looking into the Mahindra line and a dealer 250 miles away has a 6530 which seems to spec out similar to the 573 is priced 21000.00 both have similar financing offers same transmission 8x8 shuttle ,same size tires, remotes and same hp.I am tempted to take a chance on the Mahindra to save 5000.00.I would appreciate some input Thanks!

acctually that 573 is 72hp while the Mahindra is around 65. the 573 has the legendary Perkins diesel. i don't know much about that particular Mahindra tractor(or any Mahindra to be honest) but i will say that 573 is one of the most trouble free series of tractors i've read about. heck, i was even looking to buy either a 563 or a 573. the ONLY thing that kept me from finishing the deal was the nearest MF dealer is 45 min away. ok, truth be told, the guy didnt seem to give a rats behind if i bought a tractor from him or not. i even flat out told him "I want to buy this tractor, tell me about it". i've been a John Deere man all my life, but i was ready to turn coat and buy a MF. after all the research i had done, i knew this was the series of tractor i was most interested in, but the dealer blew the sale so i went with my second choice, a John Deere 5203. now the MF dealer also carries new holland as well as kubota, and he doesnt seem to push MF that hard. hed rather sell you a new holland first and a kubota second and be damned to you if you want a MF i guess. if it were me, i would jump all over that 573, but see if you can talk him down a little bit. never hurts to ask.

I'm not certain much of any choice tractor makes a difference once features and ergonomics play their role. You may save or appear to be saving $5000 once buying the cheaper tractor that is 250 miles away. If service is not an issue, then buy the cheaper tractor. If service is an issue, over the life of the tractor, you may end up spending that $5000 or close to it in different ways especially if you have to travel to that 250 mile away dealer enough times for that special part or filter you can't get anywhere else in a hurry. Doesn't account for your increased chance of an accident on that long journey either but I'll leave that odds playing to you. The dollar sign always reminded me of a snake crossing a railroad track. Sometimes it'll beat the train and I suppose sometimes the snake gets crushed. What I'm saying is value cannot always be measured with dollar signs. There is alot of unforeseen stuff that isn't even thought of until an issue arises. Besides, you may be able to save $5000 in other ways more conveniently. May take a bit longer but it'll get there. Ask to buy the the Massey for 23 and settle on 24. won't know if the dealer has room on the price until you ask if you haven't done so already.

Yup, make your best deal on that 573 and you'll be happy. You'll get better resale, online parts look up, huge dealer network and as you said, he's closer. I always like when I can get right there and talk to the guy that I bought something from. I always have good luck getting a part I really need when I can show up & match up parts or take one off a new tractor.
I bet you can get him down a little on that 573, If that dealer is a good guy, you'll save on your next purchases too. The Shortline guys around here just don't have the stuff like the MF, Deere & NH guys do.

I would like to thank you all for the input, I decided to go with the Massey 573 and I will take delivery on the 16th of March my dealer is only 20 miles south and delivery of my new tractor and Vermeer V rake was free. I got Great service from a great dealer Thanks

congrats! i honestly think you're going to REALLY enjoy that 573. like i said in an earlier post, i really wanted a 563 but the dealer blew the sale. i just couldn't make myself buy a tractor and have sketchy service, or no service for that matter. looking forward to seeing some pics!
