I chose not to respond to your post earlier because I don't own a 1532, rather am looking at a new 1643 or 1652 myself.

My neighbour just purchased a 1528 about 3 months ago. To date he has cleared a 1.5 acre woodlot and hauled it all out a cord wood, tilled the perimeter of his property with a 60" JD tiller and resurfaced his driveway. Not bad considering he purchased the tractor while on leave from a tour in Afghanistan and has only been home now for just over three weeks. The 1528 is a workhorse and I can't get over how powerful and quiet it is compared to the Kubotas, JDs and Kioti I have looked at in my own search for a tractor. At 2000 RPM it hums along quite nicely.

Haven't looked at Bobcat's, for no other reason other than there aren't many dealers in my part of the world.

My two cents, all the tractors you're looking at are fine machines, it really boils down to what you think fits you best.

Good luck.

Let me lend you some support for Massey. Last fall I bought 1635 hydro w/ a cab. I only have 125 hours on it. So far I love it. No problem with a 6' rotary mower or a 6' rear snow blower. Not so thrilled with JD any more as there quite a few tractors every bit as good or better.

I may have went Massey when I first looked. I was about to pull the plug on a 1528. But I found the Kubota B3200 for 2 grand less and got more tractor HP. I did like how smooth the Massey was though.

I truly appreciate all you guys chiming in. Please show your support, because us newbies really need all we can get. Right now it may come down to the Dealler who really wants to DEAL! they all seem to be great tractors and the names that have stood the test of time even the Bobcat is short lived as a tractor all the other things they have mastered speak of their total dedication as well.

Thanks again.

laen64,
Were you aware of the Massey Ferguson offer of a free loader or mower deck or 72 months 0%?

I had been looking for a tractor for some time, and a couple days ago my wife saw the ad in American Profile magazine.
I'd been planning to buy a JD 3005, but as a result of the ad, called the local MF dealer. Turned out that he didn't even know about the offer!
I wanted the free loader so after some figuring, he came up with a price of $14,650 which included the L100 loader on the 1532, a skidsteer bucket, 4wd, and 8x8 synchro shuttle transmission. That's 5 more hp and more features than the JD 3005 had for significantly less money. The L100 loader is about 1300 lb capacity compared to about 900 lbs for the 3005 as well - if I'm remembering right.
So a new tractor is coming to our property in a couple days.

The 1532 is made for MF by Iseki of Japan and is painted red, the JD is from Yanmar of Japan and is green. Kubota is also from Japan and painted orange. The Japanese build solid tractors.

Sorry I am late here but I bought a 1532 with a L100 loader and love it. I have and it a little over a year and have used it to clear land for food plots, garden work, and alot of other odd jobs. It has never missed a beat and easy to use.

I too am looking at the MF line. Looking at the 1648 with cab and QPS for just over $29K and getting the free FEL and pretty good financing at 5.99% for 60 months. Looking at the features and comparing them to JD, NH and Case, I think MF has them all beat. Dealer pricing sure varies alot though, so better shop around. Texas dealer wanted $38,500 for the same tractor that my local dealer priced.

Garry, sorry i was alittle higher but it was only 34k not 38k and the diff is that MF just ended the free loader program so i was not able to quote that price, if i could have gotten you into that program then yes the cost would have been around 29/30k. Sorry for any mis understanding.
