Took my Massey 1428V with 1100 hours on it to dealer because of engine oil leak, was expecting seals but they came back to say that the rear engine cover also needed to be replaced ($1875 CDN for this part alone). This tractor has not had heavy use (clearing snow and raking riding arena) so am wondering what I could have done to my baby to damage the rear engine cover. Does anyone know what could cause this part to need replacing? Could just removing the part have caused the damage?
