I've been slowly fixing up my new to me old 135. It has no serial number plate but i was told it's late 60s.
I tested the fuel gauge by removing the single wire to the sender and grounding that post. To my surprise the needle went to full. I thought maybe a bad wire so I removed the wire from the sender and tested again, and the needle moved. Ok sender must be bad.
So I look on agco parts books. The part listed for diesel is available on the internet aftermarket BUT it says it's not usable for 6" tanks.
Yesterday's tractor has ones thats listed for continental gas but i cant narrow down which one is 30-200ohms which is what it says in the gauge.
So, has anyone successfully replaced the fuel sender in a 135 diesel with an aftermarket sender in a 6" tank? I measured from the outside edge in the corner with a tape measure. I am planning on calling agco dealer Monday, i am not sure if it is still available.
It's not a huge deal but it would help with my OCD to have all my gauges working.
