Hi all,

I have an old Maschio tiller, I think model L120 from the serial plate. It's leaking from the axle on the inside of the tiller. I looked for a manual online but could only find an L125 and it doesn't look like the one I have. Do you guys know what I would need to replace and where I can order the parts?

Thanks,

Alex

In the top picture it appears the seal is shot and needs replacement. I would recommend the bearing be examined too as it may have caused the seal to fail. You should be able to take the bearing and seal to a bearing house and get replacements over the counter. I use Motion Industries for most of my bearings, seals and packing for hydraulic cylinders. There are lots of similar businesses to obtain what you need, might try NAPA too.

In the bottom picture I don't see any grease on the Ujoints, might wan't to check these out too. I am changing mine out this week and the cost was about 26 each at NAPA.

Thanks for the motion industries recommendation. Hopefully the bearing is still ok, those things are expensive.

Do I have to remove everything on the chain side to get at this bearing and seal? Or can I unbolt it from the inside (where it is pictured)?

Without seeing it up close I would think you need to disassemble the shaft to get to the seal and bearings. The bearing I would guess is about $45 or close to it.
