Mahindra 2810
Can anyone tell me where to buy the plug for the rear accessory outlet on the rear of my tractor. I asked my dealer today about buying one and they told me that Mahindra does not offer one. This I can not understand. Why would they put a plug and allow the male piece not to be purchased or at least say where to get one?

Thanks to all,
Gary

That is a good question Gary, You are not the first one to ask that question in this Forum.

I will be watching to see what kind of responce you get.

I was going to change the plug on my 2810HST to match my trailers , but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Good Luck

Hi Gary,
I don't know where you can buy just the plug, but for whatever it's worth, the flat bed trailer that I bought along with my Mahindra tractor uses that same sort of plug. I guess that might help me some if I was using the tractor to pull the trailer in a parade or something.
Maybe from there, someone can trace down how to get the plug. The receipt for the trailer simply says "Diamond C Equipment". I don't know if that's a brand name.

I see if I can come up with anything further.

Thanks for the feed back. It still amazes me that Mahindra does not have it as a part item.

Will let you know when and where I find one.

That looks similar to the factory plug on my F150, it is hard to tell from the pic if it is the same size.

It appears to be a standard 6 way plug that you can pick up at any Wal-Mart Store, Farm and Ranch Store or good hardware store. It is nothing special. As for the factory plug on the F-150 that would be the larger 7 way plug. The 6 way plugs are usually metal where the 7 way is usually plastic. Cost should be around $6 to $7.

Im not sure if the connector on the 2810 is the same as the one on my 4110 but if it is, it is not any kind of standard trailer type.
I am totaly familar with the 6 pin round, 7 pin round, 7 pin RV types.
It has seven round contacts but there are both male & female pins in the connector.
I have looked at several trailer supply websites and even looked up the heavy duty connectors used on tractor-trailer over the road rigs.
It might be some sort of Asian or European type connector. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

William I agree with you. There are no plugs around like that with female and male all in the same plug. I think I will call Mahindra and speak directly with them. I will of course give them a piece of my mind if they say they can't provide the needed info to buy the correct plug.
I will let you all know what they say.
Thanks for the replies.

Guess I was wrong, however it shold be easy enough to change out the female tractor plug portion to a more standard unit. All you would need is a lighted electrical prob to find the hot wires for brake, running lights and turn signals and wire them into the standard trailer plug pattern. Sounds a lot easier than tring to locate and pay for a single use plug.
