Making do during hard times!

Had to talk to a friend yesterday that was going thru some bad times. He asked me how I managed to be so calm and happy all the time. I told him I had a picture of my wife I carried everyday in my billfold. The picture was taken at a picnic the day before our wedding forty two years ago.

"Sam", I told my friend. "When times are hard and the going gets rough I stop for a minute and take out my billfold. I take out the wife's picture and look at it for at least a minute. It reminds me that if I can survive forty-two years with a crazy psycho like her, I can survive anything!"

He thanked me for the insight and left the building.

I'm normally an easy going, happy guy but there are those times. I just try to remember that time will normally heal all wounds and wound all heals. That bring the normal joy back into my life.

RSKY Yikes I don't think that advice would be universally appealing. I hope you both were on the ground floor.

I look at a picture of my wife and think if that woman is willing to tolerate all these years with a crazy psycho like me, things must be OK.
