Making a safe cable fence - looking for suggestions

[Root Cause]

I am building a new home site but only there a couple of days a week right now. I put up a cable fence across the driveway with a "No trespassing" sign. I strung the cable through a couple of pieces of painted PVC so it shows up better. I don't want to strangle a kid or a deer so I spliced it in the middle and used a couple of zip ties to reconnect until I found something better to take back with me next week. I just looked at carabiners online looking for ideas and everything so far looks too strong. Hoping to find something like a quick connect that can be hidden inside the PVC pipe. The idea is that strangers would see the lock on the post but make it is easy to disconnect without a key.

Wondering if anyone here has a better idea.

If you just want it to appear strong then maybe a couple super magnets would work. A 3/4 inch magnet would probably be plenty good, For example, KJ Magnetics sells for 10 bucks a 40 p!us pound pull magnet. See the link: K&J Magnetics: DCC-N52 .
You can buy magnets with holes through them too. But I think a plain cylinder magnet could be easily glued into something that will also be holding the end of the cable.
