I changed the HYD and HYDRO filters and fluid at the 50 HR.

Now at the 200 HR service they want the filters changed.

At 400 HR you do the fluid...Then the filters don't get change again?

Seems a little ridiculous to change a filter with only 150 HRS on it and then to not change it again until the service cycle starts over again at over 1000 HRS.

What are your thoughts? Seems stupid to me.

I read the maintenance schedule to say change the filters every 200 hours and the oil and filters every 400 hours.

Agreed. The filters are every 200 hours.

Similar on the other items. Engine oil, for example, is marked at 50 (first time) and 100. That means you change it at 100, 200, 300, etc. Not *only* at 100 hours.

Change the hydraulic filters @ 200 hr. intervals after the 50 hr. Hydraulic oil changed @ 400 hr. intervals. You can do this at the 200 hr. mark or at 250 hrs. = 200 hrs. after the 50 hr. service.

Your hydraulic reservoir is the gear case/transmission so they want you to change this oil after first 50 hrs. to remove the oil that has then flushed any milling residue from the gears.

About time for the filter change(keep the fluid). How you guys doing it without contaminating the fluid? Is there an easier way than drain, change filters, strain and refill fluid. messing with that much fluid is a b#$ch.

I haven't done it yet, still a few hours away. But wouldn't the oil drain down lower than the filters? Allowing you to remove them with minimal fluid loss?

Maybe I am not understanding your question but I simply took my filter off and replaced it with the new one. I don't recall much fluid loss other than what was in the filter.

That is what I was hoping to hear. One of the filters is up top. The other ,not so much.

The fluid level is transmission is below the filters so it won't drain out. You will loose a little, what is in each filter and the attaching lines. Change filters, run machine cylcing the hydraulics, shut off and check fluid level. Shouldn't more than 1-2 qts. to brin it back up to full level again.
