Thanks for the heads-up.
I hope your info is correct and it's all snow.
Presently. many fields in my area (central Maine) have patches of bare ground showing.
Seems like most snow storms in the past couple of years have had rain and freezing rain as part of the mix.
So far, for this weekend, the local meteorologist are just predicting a coastal storm with very little to no accumulation to the interior.

Yeah, for some reason the snow storms seem to be tracking south...Conn., R.I. & Mass get dumped on, but up here in ski country we'll get maybe an inch or two. However, if it's warm enough to get rain we get it. Snowmobiling has been terrible so far this year.

Unless the track changes, we're not expecting any precip here.

We have just barely enough snow on the ground for careful sledding. These last few sunny days have been evaporating a lot of it away. Bare ground under spruce trees.

Knock on wood, I have not had to push any snow whatsoever this year. Salted a few times but nothing more than 1"on the ground at a time and less on roads. They are saying maybe 2-4" this Saturday but heavy rain first. Hopefully it misses us

That small dot between the point of the arrow and Saint John is where I am.

Looking at this forecast and the predicted wind it looks like an all day NothEaster with lots of snow.

Gusts to 75mph is plenty.

I am curious about this storm. The last one gave us 5" or so. This one says we'll get a foot plus. They are using the word blizzard. We were planning to visit my wife's 95 year old father tomorrow- just north of Boston, but I think we will go later in the week. They are getting their snow about the time we'd be heading back, Driving ahead of the storm is one thing, but driving with the storm is another!

Last thing we are considering is an out-of-town trip Tuesday or Wednesday. 8 mile round trip commute might be thoroughly enough.

Ya, I never thought where you are. You guys get the brunt of a lot of nasty weather that follows the coast it seems.

NWS - National Mosaic Enhanced Radar Image: Full Resolution Loop.

Check out this website. It looks like a monster storm and building. We'll see if it builds big enough to reach further south in to the gulf and starts pulling in that moisture with the counter clockwise rotation, then look out.

The weather model I run shows my folks in Windsor CT getting about 24" over a couple days. I used to depend on this model for predicting powder days when I was a crazy ski addict, and it works well. Be interesting to see if they get hit that hard.

That beige-pink color in the middle is 20+ inches.

Even this far north all we got was freezing rain from the last storm. According to that map we're right on the edge of 6-12 and 12+ this time around. Being north and west of the White Mountains, we're in a bit of a snow shadow for coastal storms (which seems like all we've gotten last few years).

I hope it all goes up to ski-country where it belongs

Me too!! Gettin' itchy to get the snowmobile out. Even though the ground has been snow-covered since before Thanksgiving, it's pretty much 6" of crust.
